The Baltimore Orioles and the St. Louis Cardinals will meet on Tuesday night in the opening game of a three-game interleague matchup at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Baltimore Orioles enter Tuesday’s contest with a 63–68 overall record (5th in the American League East) and a 29–34 mark on the road. The Orioles offense has been rather pedestrian this season. Baltimore has compiled 583 runs scored (14th in MLB), 188 doubles (24th in MLB), 159 home runs and a .235 team batting average which ranks 27th in Major League Baseball.

The Orioles arrive at tomorrow night’s game in below average form. Baltimore has lost five of the team’s last seven games played this season, including a thrilling 3–2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays two days ago.

The Baltimore Orioles will turn to right hander Chris Bassitt in this game. In 12 starts made in 2026, Bassitt has compiled a 4–4 win‑loss record, a 5.08 ERA, a 1.62 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched. Bassitt will look to stabilize his recent performances on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals

Shifting our focus to the Baltimore offense, the Orioles lineup features Pete Alonso and Gunnar Henderson. Pete Alonso has tallied 30 home runs (8th in MLB), 85 RBIs (6th in MLB) and an .860 OPS. Gunnar Henderson has amassed 20 home runs, 51 RBIs, 23 doubles and a .698 OPS.

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

The St. Louis Cardinals enter Tuesday night’s matchup with a 66–66 overall record (3rd in the National League Central) and a 32–34 mark at home. St. Louis arrives at this contest in poor form. The Cardinals have lost four of the team’s last five games, including a 7–6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies last week.

The Cardinals will start left hander Matthew Liberatore in tomorrow’s game. In 25 starts made in 2026, Liberatore has compiled a 5–11 win‑loss record, a 5.04 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and 125 strikeouts in 125 innings pitched. Liberatore arrives at this contest in average form, allowing three earned runs or fewer in four of his last six starts made this season.

The Cardinals lineup features Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker. Alec Burleson has amassed a .291 batting average, 21 home runs, 96 RBIs (3rd in MLB) and an .844 OPS. Jordan Walker has compiled 27 home runs (14th in MLB), 96 RBIs and an .854 OPS.

Why the Baltimore Orioles will win.

• Offensive potential. Pete Alonso and Gunnar Henderson have been key contributors for the Baltimore Orioles lineup.

• Starting pitching. In 12 starts made in 2026, Chris Bassitt has compiled a 4–4 win‑loss record, a 5.08 ERA, a 1.62 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched.

• Enhanced motivation. The Baltimore Orioles have lost five of the team’s last seven games.

Why the St. Louis Cardinals will win.

• Home field edge. The St. Louis Cardinals have played competitive baseball at Busch Stadium this season.

• Offensive balance. Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker lead the St. Louis Cardinals lineup.

• Starting pitching. In 35 starts made in 2026, Matthew Liberatore has compiled a 5–11 win‑loss record, a 5.04 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and 125 strikeouts in 125 innings pitched.

Baltimore Orioles vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

In my opinion, this matchup favors the Baltimore Orioles staying within the number (1.5) with the potential of winning the contest outright. Why? Baltimore starting pitcher Chris Bassitt has compiled a 4–4 win‑loss record, a 5.08 ERA, a 1.62 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched. Conversely, St. Louis hurler Matthew Liberatore has been far more inconsistent, amassing a 5-11 record across 25 starts made in 2026. For the reasons just noted, I am backing the Baltimore Orioles plus the 1.5 runs in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Baltimore Orioles +1.5
