The Atlanta Braves and the San Francisco Giants will meet on Friday night in the opening game of a three‑game National League series at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Atlanta Braves enter Friday’s contest with a 48–31 overall record (1st in the National League East) and a 24–17 mark on the road. The Braves offense has been competitive to this point in the season. Through 79 games played in 2026, Atlanta has compiled 385 runs scored (8th in MLB), 121 doubles, 103 home runs and a .251 team batting average which ranks seventh in Major League Baseball.

The Braves arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. Atlanta has lost four of the team’s last five games played this season, including the Milwaukee Brewers 1-0 shutout win over the Atlanta Braves earlier this week.

Atlanta will turn to right hander Reynaldo Lopez in this contest. In five starts made this season, Lopez has compiled a 3.50 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 39 strikeouts, while allowing 39 hits and 21 walks in 43.2 innings pitched.

Turning our attention to the Atlanta offense, the Braves lineup features first baseman Matt Olson and outfielder Michael Harris II. Matt Olson has compiled a .270 batting average, 20 home runs (6th in MLB), 52 RBIs (13th in MLB) and an .870 OPS. Michael Harris II has tallied a .306 batting average (8th in MLB), 14 home runs, 13 doubles, 42 RBIs and an .850 OPS.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The San Francisco Giants enter Friday night’s matchup with a 33–47 overall record (4th in the National League West) and a 16–21 mark at home. San Francisco arrives at this contest playing subpar baseball. The Giants have lost four of the team’s last six games played this season, including a 2-1 loss to the Miami Marlins last week.

San Francisco will start right hander Trevor McDonald in tomorrow’s game. In nine starts made this season, McDonald has compiled a 2–5 record, a 4.93 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and 42 strikeouts, while allowing 43 hits and 18 walks in 45.2 innings pitched. McDonald will look to stabilize his early season performance in tomorrow’s matchup with the Atlanta Braves.

The San Francisco Giants have compiled a lineup this season featuring second baseman Luis Arraez and third baseman Matt Chapman. Luis Arraez enters this contest with a .321 batting average (5th in MLB), 30 RBIs, 6 stolen bases and an .803 OPS. Matt Chapman has tallied a .242 batting average, 7 home runs, 42 RBIs and a .714 OPS.

Why the Atlanta Braves will win.

• Starting pitching. In five starts made this season, Reynaldo Lopez has compiled a 3.50 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 39 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched.

• Offensive upside. Michael Harris II and Matt Olson lead the Atlanta Braves lineup.

• Enhanced motivation. The Atlanta Braves have lost four of the team’s last five games.

• Ability to win on the road. The Braves have amassed a 24-17 record on the road.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win.

• Starting pitching. In nine starts made this season, Trevor McDonald has compiled a 2–5 record, a 4.93 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and 42 strikeouts, while allowing 43 hits and 18 walks in 45.2 innings pitched.

• Offensive production. Luis Arraez and Matt Chapman provide a strong core to the San Francisco lineup.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction

In my opinion, this matchup favors the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez has amassed a 3.50 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP in 43.2 innings pitched, while San Francisco hurler Trevor McDonald has been far more inconsistent which a concern facing a formidable Atlanta lineup that has played exceptionally well on the road (24-17) this season. With that said, I am backing the Atlanta Braves on the moneyline in this game.
