The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets will meet on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three‑game National League East series at Citi Field in Queens, New York.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Atlanta Braves enter Sunday’s contest with a 46–24 overall record (2nd in the National League East) and a rather impressive 24–13 mark on the road. The Braves offense has been outstanding to this point in the 2026 regular season. Atlanta has compiled 358 runs scored (3rd in MLB), 111 doubles, 95 home runs and a .256 team batting average which ranks fourth in Major League Baseball.

The Braves arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. More specifically, Atlanta has lost three of the team’s last four games played this season, including a 2–1 loss to the Chicago White Sox earlier this week.

Atlanta will turn to right hander Bryce Elder in this contest. In fourteen starts made this season, Elder has compiled a 5–3 win‑loss record, a 2.66 ERA (9th in MLB), 71 strikeouts and a 1.05 WHIP which ranks 15th in Major League Baseball, while allowing 64 hits and 25 walks in 84.2 innings pitched. Elder will look to build on his recent strong performance on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the New York Mets.

Shifting our focus to the Atlanta offense, the Braves lineup features first baseman Matt Olson and outfielder Michael Harris II. Matt Olson has compiled a .270 batting average, 20 home runs (4th in MLB), 51 RBIs (4th in MLB) and an .899 OPS. Michael Harris II has tallied a .303 batting average (11th in MLB), 14 home runs, 11 walks, 9 doubles, 41 RBIs and an .849 OPS.

New York Mets Betting Preview

The New York Mets enter Sunday afternoon’s matchup with a 31–39 overall record (5th in the National League East) and a 17–17 mark at home. The Mets have played subpar baseball recently, losing three of the team’s last five games played this season, including a 9–2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals three days ago.

New York will start right hander Freddy Peralta in tomorrow’s game. In fourteen starts made this season, Peralta has compiled a 4–5 record, a 4.04 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP and 79 strikeouts, while allowing 71 hits and 32 walks in 78 innings pitched.

The New York Mets lineup features Juan Soto and Carson Benge. Juan Soto enters this contest with a robust .287 batting average, 15 home runs (18th in MLB), 32 RBIs and a .937 OPS which ranks 14th in Major League Baseball. Carson Benge has compiled a .253 batting average, 7 home runs, 9 doubles, 18 walks, 26 RBIs, and a .701 OPS.

Why the Atlanta Braves will win.

• Starting pitching stability. Bryce Elder has compiled a 5–3 win‑loss record, a 2.66 ERA (9th in MLB), 71 strikeouts and a 1.05 WHIP which ranks 15th in Major League Baseball.

• Offensive upside. Michael Harris II and Matt Olson continue to anchor the Braves lineup.

• Road performance. Atlanta has played competitive baseball on the road posting a 24-13 record.

Why the New York Mets will win.

• Starting pitching advantage. Freddy Peralta has compiled a 4.04 ERA and 79 strikeouts across fourteen starts made this season.

• Home field advantage. The Mets have amassed a 17-17 record at home.

• Offensive production. Juan Soto and Carson Benge provide a strong core to the New York Mets lineup.

Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Prediction

In my view, this matchup favors the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta starting pitcher Bryce Elder has pitched exceptionally well in 2026 compiling a 5-3 record, a 2.66 ERA (9th in MLB) and a 1.05 WHIP which ranks 15th in Major League Baseball. Conversely, New York hurler Freddy Peralta struggled in his last outing, allowing six earned runs in the St. Louis Cardinals 7-0 defeat of the Mets five days ago. Peralta’s recent issues on the mound are a concern facing a formidable Atlanta lineup. For the reasons just noted, I am backing the Atlanta Braves on the moneyline in this game.
