In their last set the Braves played the Milwaukee Brewers and had some major trouble. Atlanta was swept in that one with losses 10-0, 8-5 and 16-7. On Friday versus the Rockies, the Braves took a tough 6-5 loss. Starting pitcher Grant Holmes went 5.0 innings with five earned runs.

I might try the Rockies here. Probably staying away, though. Both starting pitchers could use a good showing. In his last pair Quantrill is 0-1 with 10 earned runs in 8.0 innings total. As for Fried, he’s got 10 earned in 8.1 innings over two of his last three starts (one earned in 6.0 innings during the other). Fried is 0-3 in that trio.
On Friday the Rockies were out-hit 12-10 and coughed up three runs in the seventh inning but still toughed out the win. Four different players had multiple hits and Brenton Doyle added two RBI, two runs and a homer. Another win Saturday may be a tall proposition but I think it’s possible.
