Athletics vs. Miami Marlins Prediction

I’m going to roll with the Athletics in this one. It would be nice to know what the starting pitching matchup would be coming into this game, but the fact is that while both of these teams have definitely exceeded expectations offensively through the first month plus of the season so far, the Athletics are the team in better form right now. The Marlins are not going to get brow-beaten by me for losing to the Dodgers, but the Marlins have been giving up a ton of runs in a lot of their recent games. Whether it’s been the starters, the bullpen, or both in a lot of these games. The Athletics have a solid lineup that’s crushing it right now, and their bullpen has been able to hold it down in these late-inning situations. I think they can do it again in this one. Give me the Athletics to draw first blood here.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Athletics -135
