New York Yankees Betting Preview
The Yankees took on the rival Boston Red Sox over the weekend and things didn’t go very well outside of a 14-4 win Saturday. New York lost the other pair 5-3 and 3-0 to drop the series. On Tuesday versus the Rays, the Yankees fell behind early and ultimately lost 5-3. Starter Carlos Rodon gave up four earned in 4.0 innings.
In the stater role for Wednesday’s game it’ll be Marcus Stroman. This year Stroman is 7-4 with a 3.58 ERA in 18 starts. In his career Stroman is 84-80 with a 3.65 ERA across 249 games (241 starts).
Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview
Over on the Rays’ side, they played the Texas Rangers over the weekend. Tampa Bay had a rough go of things in that set, losing all three games in a sweep 3-0, 4-3 and 13-2. On Tuesday the Rays scored four times in the first inning and cruised from there. Ryan Pepiot had one earned in 5.2 innings of work as starter.

New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction
I’ll take a stab on the Rays. Probably not touching it in reality, though. Eflin is just 1-2 in his last two starts with nine earned in 12.0 combined innings in two of those three games (6.0 clean innings in the other). As for Stroman, he’s coming off five earned in 5.0 innings against the Reds in his last start.
On Tuesday the Rays got quieter after their four-run first inning (featuring a three-run shot from Isaac Paredes) on offense. Pitching-wise there were a couple of rough bullpen performances as well. That said, there’s no reason to think Tampa Bay can’t beat a flailing Yankees squad again Wednesday.
