Harper Paces Phillies

Bryce Harper was the star of the show on Saturday and he helped the Phillies pick up a 7-2 victory. Bryce Harper hit a home run and ended up celebrating it with a soccer slide on the way back to the dugout to celebrate. Whit Merrifield also had a strong game hit and he hit a home run and drove in three RBIs. Ranger Suarez got the start and he went 5.2 innings giving up eight hits and two runs. The Phillies are averaging 5.11 runs while their pitching is giving up 3.41 runs per game. The offense and pitching are both ranked 2nd in the league. Getting the start for the Phillies will be Taijuan Walker who sits with a 3-1 record and an ERA of 5.73. In his last starta gainst the St. Louis Cardinals he went five innings giving up five hits and four runs.

Can the Mets Bounce Back?

The Mets got out to a 1-0 lead on Saturday but that was the nonly offense they really got going and they ended pu losing 7-2. Starling Marte was the top player finishing with two hits and driving in one RBI. Sean Manaea went 3.2 innings giving up seven hits and six earned runs. The pitching is going to need to be a whole lot better here. The Mets are averaging 4.35 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.89 runs per game. The offense is ranked 15th in the league while the pitching is ranked 26th. Getting the start for the Mets will be Jose Quintana who sits with a 1-5 record and an ERA of 5.17. In his last start against the Arizona Diamondbacks he went four innings giving up four hits and three runs.

New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

This game is going to be higher scoring. I really don’t trust Jose Quintana or Taijuan Walker and they are both going to be lit up in this game. The Phillies especially are going to get out to a fast start and that is going to be the difference. Look for both teams to score at least seven runs, and this game is going to be a shootout. This game is going to be a shootout and it’s going to go well over the total.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
