Javier Assad managed 5.2 innings in the start with five earned runs.
For the starter gig in the Friday game the Cubs are sending out Justin Steele. This year Steele is 0-2 with a 4.10 ERA in seven starts. He has 36 Ks in 37.1 innings total. Steele is 24-18 with a 3.38 ERA in 81 career games (70 starts).

On Wednesday the Reds won again, this time 12-7. In the Thursday game Cincinnati posted nine team hits in the victory. Hunter Greene lasted 6.2 innings in the start with four earned on five hits and two walks.

Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with the Reds here. Lodolo had a spotty outing in a loss versus the Giants back on May 11 (6.0 innings; four earned) but he’s been good in his last two starts more recently. Lodolo is 2-0 in that pair with three earned on 12 hits and one walk combined over 11.1 innings.
On Thursday the Reds scored three runs in two different innings during a well-rounded offensive display. I like Cincinnati to keep it up on Friday, provided Lodolo has a quality start.
