Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

The Royals played the San Diego Padres in their weekend series. Kansas City took losses 11-8 and 7-3 in the first two installments of that set, but staved off the sweep with a 4-3 win on Sunday. In Tuesday’s game versus the Guardians, the Royals blew a 5-0 lead and lost 8-5. Starter Seth Lugo gave up 6.0 innings with five earned on six hits and a walk.

It’ll be Brady Singer in the starter slot for the Royals on Wednesday. This year over 11 starts Singer is 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA and 64 Ks in 61.2 innings. Singer is 31-33 with a 4.28 ERA in 106 career games (103 starts).

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Washington Nationals in their weekend series. Cleveland took victories 7-1 and 3-2 in the first two games but couldn’t pull off the sweep after a 5-2 Sunday loss. In Tuesday’s matchup Cleveland scored three runs in the fourth inning and five more in the seventh to complete the comeback effort.

As starting pitcher for the Wednesday game the Guardians are going with Nick Sandlin. This year Sandlin is 4-0 with a 2.77 ERA in 29 games (zero starts). This will be Sandlin’s first career start in 170 games.

Kansas City Royals vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’ll stay with Kansas City. Singer has done pretty well over his last couple of starts. Since his last loss on May 13 versus Seattle (5.0 innings; four earned), Singer is 1-0 with just two earned in 11.0 innings on 10 hits and three walks.

On Tuesday the Royals wilted after the fourth inning and couldn’t do much from there on 10 team hits. Kansas City will likely have some offensive issues against Sandlin in the first couple of innings Wednesday, so they’ll need to stay patient in order to even things up and forget about the opener.

Andrew’s Pick Kansas City Royals +102
