After another loss 3-1 to Cleveland on Monday, in game two the Mets bagged 11 team hits in a tough loss 7-6. Starting pitcher Adrian Houser gave up six earned with six hits and one walk in 5.0 innings.
In the starter role for the Mets on Wednesday it’ll be Jose Quintana. This year Quintana is 1-4 with a 5.21 ERA and 32 Ks in 46.2 innings. Quintana is 93-97 with a 3.78 ERA in 377 games (311 starts) over his career.
Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview
Over on the Guardians’ side, they took on the Minnesota Twins in their last set. Cleveland was able to notch a sweep in that trio with wins 3-2, 11-4 and 5-2. Following their two-run win Monday, in the Tuesday matchup the Guardians scored three times in the third inning to kick off the big offensive day. Xzavion Curry managed 4.1 innings as starter with two earned on seven hits.
It’ll be Triston McKenzie in the starting pitcher role for the Guardians on Wednesday. This season over nine starts McKenzie is 2-3 with a 3.23 ERA and 40 Ks in 47.1 innings. McKenzie is 20-27 with a 3.68 career ERA in 77 games (73 starts).

New York Mets vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction
I’ll stay with Cleveland. McKenzie is pitching well over his last three starts, even though he’s 0-1 in that time. In that trio McKenzie has three earned runs on nine hits and 10 walks in 18.1 combined frames. As for Quintana, he’s given up 14 earned over his last 18.0 innings combined.
On Tuesday the Guardians gave up a ton of hits (11) and had to go through seven different pitchers but everything worked out well in the end. McKenzie may need to go deep into this one in order to give the pen a rest but Cleveland should have a good shot at a W.
