The Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Guardians meet Friday in MLB action from Progressive Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Minnesota Twins will send out Simeon Woods-Richardson in this one and Woods-Richardson is 1-0 with a 3.24 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. This will be Woods-Richardson’s first career start against the Guardians. The Cleveland Guardians will send Triston McKenzie to the mound here and McKenzie is 2-3 with a 3.54 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Twins, McKenzie is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA and 35 strikeouts.

Minnesota Twins Recap

The Minnesota Twins come into this one looking to rebound from a tough showing in their series to start the week against the New York Yankees thanks to a 5-0 loss in Thursday’s series finale. The loss snapped Minnesota’s series win streak, with wins over the Blue Jays and Mariners in the last week and a half.

Twins Starting To Slip At The Plate

Willi Castro leads the Twins at the dish with 39 hits including 10 doubles and 3 triples as well as 14 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. Ryan Jeffers has a team-high 10 home runs, 31 RBIs and 12 doubles with a .283 batting average and .365 OBP. Carlos Santana has 7 home runs with 21 RBIs while Edouard Julien also has 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 5 stolen bases but also has a team-high 53 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Minnesota Twins will win

  • The Twins have won each of their last seven games against AL Central opponents.
  • The Guardians have lost four of their last five games as favorites against AL Central opponents following a road loss.
  • The Twins have covered the run line in each of their last 11 Friday night games at Progressive Field.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians will be on the hunt to bounce back themselves after a 4-0 loss to Texas in Wednesday’s series finale. The loss only held the Guardians back from completing the sweep, but Cleveland did bounce back with a series win after losing their four-game set with the White Sox last weekend.

Guardians Inconsistent At The Dish Themselves

Steven Kwan leads the Guardians with 47 hits including 3 home runs, 11 RBIs, 6 doubles and a pair of triples with a .353 batting average and a .407 OBP. Josh Naylor has a team-high 12 home runs with 33 RBIs and 8 doubles while Jose Ramirez has 9 homers with a team-high 37 RBIs. • The Twins have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven games against the Guardians following a home loss.

  • The Guardians have led after 5 innings in each of their last four games against the Twins.

Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’m on the Guardians here. I think this is a fairly even matchup from an offensive perspective but I give a huge starting pitching edge to Cleveland as SWR hasn’t been able to go overly deep into games and when that happens, the Twins have to rely on a bullpen that’s been one of the worst this month in terms of staff ERA. Cleveland’s ‘Pen has been a lot better and has been solid at keeping runs down on the other side and I think the Guardians do enough to get the win in Friday’s opener. Give me Cleveland here.

Chris’s Pick Cleveland -120
