In the Thursday finale the Astros scored six in the third inning on the way to an 8-1 blowout victory. Cristian Javier put up 6.0 clean innings in the start with two hits, one earned and eight strikeouts.

It’ll be Hunter Brown in the starting pitcher role for the Astros on Friday. This year in his eight games (seven starts) Brown is 0-4 with a 7.79 ERA and 36 Ks over 32.1 total frames. Brown is 13-17 with a 5.10 ERA in 46 career games (38 starts).

Milwaukee Brewers vs Houston Astros Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Brewers here. This should be an interesting starter matchup though, and each pitcher’s performance will go a long way toward his team’s fortunes. Peralta has given up six earned runs in 11.0 innings over his last two starts, going 0-1 in that time. As for Brown, he’s got three earned runs in 9.1 innings over his last two starts.

As for Houston, on Thursday they had one big inning on the way to eight team hits in the win. Joey Loperfido (two RBI) had a homer, and Yainer Diaz added a run with three RBI. The Astros only had to use two pitchers (Javier and Shawn Dubin) in a great performance on the mound, so their pen will be fresh for Friday.
