In the Tuesday matchup versus Philly, the Blue Jays were out-hit 11-6 in a rough loss 10-1. Starter Jose Berrios left after 3.2 innings, eight earned, seven hits and two walks.

In the starting pitcher role on Wednesday the Blue Jays will send out Chris Bassitt. Over his seven starts this year Bassitt is 2-5 with a 5.45 ERA and 34 Ks in 36.1 innings. Bassitt is 64-47 with a 3.56 ERA in 176 games (163 starts) during his career.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’ll stay with the Phillies. This should be a pretty good starter matchup if both players are on point, though. Nola has given up seven earned runs in 20.0 innings over his last three starts combined, going 2-0 in that trio. As for Bassitt, he gave up seven earned in 2.2 innings on April 26 versus the Dodgers, but came back for three earned in 6.0 innings against the Royals his last tie out. Bassitt is 0-3 in his last trio, though.

On Tuesday the Phillies had a great offensive day and played well for the whole game. Kody Clemens and Bryce Harper combined for two homers, eight RBI, four runs and five hits. The pitching was great as well; it was a nice all-around effort. I like Philly to keep it going Wednesday.
