Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Mariners took on the Houston Astros in their weekend series. Seattle took a loss 5-3 in the Friday game, but came back for victories 5-0 and 5-4 in the remaining pair to win the set. On Monday versus the Twins, the Mariners could muster only three hits in a 3-1 loss. Starter Luis Castillo went 6.2 innings with two earned on two hits and three walks.

In the starter role for the Tuesday matchup the Mariners will send out Emerson Hancock. This year in his six starts Hancock is 3-3 with a 4.75 ERA and 23 Ks in 30.1 innings. Hancock is 3-3 with a 4.68 ERA in nine career starts.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they played the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. Minnesota did well in the first pair with wins 5-2 and 3-1, but lost out on the sweep with a 9-2 loss in the finale. On Monday the Twins bagged two runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory. Simeon Woods Richardson lasted 6.0 clean frames in the starting role with one hit and one walk alongside eight Ks.

It’ll be Bailey Ober in the starting pitcher role for the Twins on Tuesday. This year Ober is 3-1 with a 4.55 ERA in six starts. He’s struck out 28 batters in 31.2 innings total. Ober is 16-13 with a 3.72 ERA in 63 starts over his MLB career.

Seattle Mariners vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll stick with the Twins. Ober was just okay in his last start versus the White Sox on May 1, but still got the win. In that game Ober went 6.0 innings with four earned runs. Over his previous two starts Ober was 2-0 with 13.1 innings and three earned. As for Hancock, he’s done well over his last trio with three earned in 15.2 total innings of work. Hancock did give up five hits and four walks in 3.2 innings during a loss to the Braves his last time up, though.

On Monday the Twins got one RBI each from Carlos Correa (run; two hits), Christian Vazquez and Manuel Margot. A few of the big bats came up empty, though. I’d like to see a more well-rounded offensive effort in Tuesday’s matchup, but the Twins should be in good shape all the same.
