The Milwaukee Brewers and the Kansas City Royals meet Tuesday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Milwaukee Brewers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Milwaukee Brewers will send out Colin Rea to the mound here and Rea is 3-0 with a 2.67 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. This will be Rea’s second career start against the Royals. Seth Lugo will get the start for Kansas City and is 5-1 with a 1.60 ERA and 31 strikeouts this season. This will be Lugo’s second career start against Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Brewers Recap

The Milwaukee Brewers come into this game looking to rebound from a 3-2 loss in Monday’s series opener at the hands of the Royals. The Brewers used a two-run home run from Gary Sanchez in the 4th inning to take a 2-0 lead but it wouldn’t be enough as the Royals would storm back and the Brew Crew would muster up just three hits as a team in the loss. The loss wasn’t a great carry over for Milwaukee, who was looking to rebound from their series loss to the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.

Brewers Inconsistent At The Plate Right Now

Entering Monday, William Contreras leads the Brewers with 44 hits including 9 doubles and 27 RBIs along with 5 home runs and a .411 OBP while Willy Adames and Rhys Hoskins each have a team-high 6 home runs with Adames logging 7 doubles. Brice Turang leads the Brewers with 14 stolen bases while Jackson Chourio has a team-high 35 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win

  • Probable Starting Pitcher: Colin Rea Record this season: 3-0 ERA: 2.67
  • The Royals have lost five of their last six games as home favorites against NL Central opponents.
  • The Brewers have won four of their last five games as road underdogs against American League opponents following a loss.
  • The Brewers have covered the run line in each of their last six games as road underdogs following a loss.
  • The Royals have failed to cover the run line in each of their last six games as home favorites against NL Central opponents.
  • The Brewers have led after 5 innings in each of their last four games as road underdogs against AL Central opponents.
  • The Brewers have led after 3 innings in three of their last four games as road underdogs against AL Central opponents.

Kansas City Royals Recap

The Kansas City Royals come into this one looking to build on their win over the Brewers from Monday, using the 3-run 7th inning to rally and pick up a win to bounce back from their series loss to the Rangers over the weekend.

Royals Keep Finding A Way Behind Witt Jr. & Perez

Going into Monday’s opener, Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 44 hits including 4 home runs, 19 RBIs, 5 triples and 10 doubles while Salvador Perez has a team-high 8 home runs and 30 RBIs with 40 hits of his own. Nelson Velazquez also has a team-high 31 strikeouts while Witt Jr. has a team-high 11 stolen bases and Maikel Garcia has 8 stolen bases this season.

Why the Kansas City Royals will win

  • Probable Starting Pitcher: Seth Lugo Record this season: 5-1 ERA: 1.60
  • The home team has won each of the last four games between the Brewers and Royals.
  • The Brewers have lost five of their last six road games against AL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Royals have covered the run line in each of their last five home games against National League opponents following a home win.
  • The Brewers have failed to cover the run line in eight of their last 10 games following a loss.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction

I’m on the Royals here. I just think Colin Rea is pitching well above his pay grade and well above what we’re used to seeing from him on a year-to-year basis. The Royals are playing the better baseball right now and also have the better bullpen going right now, as the Brewers' bullpen has been shaky in the last couple of weeks. Lugo also keeps finding a way to get the job done at home, and I think the Royals snag another win here. Give me Kansas City in this one.
