Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview
The Diamondbacks are coming off a weekend series versus the San Diego Padres. In that matchup Arizona lost the first pair 7-1 and 13-1 before staving off the sweep with an 11-4 victory in the finale. During that Sunday victory the Diamondbacks got a home run and two RBI from both Ketel Marte and Joe Pederson.
In the Tuesday opener versus the Reds, the Diamondbacks will send out Zac Gallen to start. This year in six starts Gallen is 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 35 strikeouts over 32.0 innings of work. Gallen is 42-33 with a 3.22 ERA in 121 starts.
Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview
Over on the Reds’ side, they played the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend. Cincinnati didn’t have any luck in that one, dropping all three games 3-0, 2-1 and 11-1 for a sweep. In the Sunday game, the Reds’ only RBI came from Jake Fraley. Starter Nick Lodolo lasted 5.0 innings with four earned runs on four hits and two walks.
As starting pitcher on Tuesday it’ll be the Reds’ Frankie Montas. This year Montas is 2-2 with a 4.19 ERA in five starts. He’s got 14 strikeouts in 19.1 innings. Montas has a 39-37 career record with a 3.91 ERA in 135 games (104 starts).

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction
I’ll stay with the Diamondbacks. Probably not touching this one, though. Neither team played all that well over the weekend. Arizona will need a good start from Gallen, who has lost his last two starts with eight combined earned runs in 10.0 innings during that pair. As for Montas, he was fortunate enough to avoid any significant injury after taking a line drive off his forearm in his last start on April 21 versus the Angels after just three batters. Montas went 0-2 with eight earned in 7.0 innings prior to that, however.
If the Diamondbacks can generate a few early runs here like they did on Sunday versus the Padres, Arizona will be in great shape.
