Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies played a pair versus the Houston Astros over the weekend down in Mexico City. Colorado lost both of those games 12-4 and 8-2, however. On Tuesday versus the Marlins, Colorado had a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning but ended up falling 7-6 in 10 frames. Starter Ryan Feltner went 8.0 innings with three earned on five hits and zero walks.

In the starting pitcher slot for the Wednesday matchup, the Rockies are sending out Dakota Hudson. This year in five starts Hudson is 0-4 with a 6.57 ERA and 16 Ks in 24.2 innings total. Hudson is 38-24 with a 3.98 ERA in 119 career games (84 starts).

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

Over on the Marlins’ side, they played four games versus the Washington Nationals in their weekend set. Miami struggled in that one, losing all four outings. On Tuesday versus the Rockies, the Marlins got three RBI from Dane Myers, who also posted two hits and a run. Sixto Sanchez lasted 4.0 innings with five earned on six hits and no walks.

Roddery Munoz will make the start for the Marlins on Wednesday. In his lone start this year (the first of his career), Munoz put up 5.0 innings with two earned, two hits, one walk and seven Ks versus the Cubs.

Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’ll probably stay with the Marlins. At least some of that is due to Hudson’s recent struggles. In his last three starts combined, Hudson has 15 earned runs on 18 hits and 12 walks in 13.1 innings. He’s 0-2 in that trio, so Hudson really needs a bounce-back effort on Wednesday.

In the series opener, Miami got into trouble early but the bullpen came through with a nice hold the rest of the way. The Marlins did use six different pitchers in the win however, so the pickings may be a little slim for game two—especially with no Luzardo. I’m probably not touching this one but Miami should still have a decent shot.
