St. Louis Cardinals vs Detroit Tigers prediction

Game 1 Prediction: I'm not excited about a pitching matchup of Kyle Gibson and Jack Flaherty. Gibson has allowed 25 hits and 15 runs through 31 innings, and he's also walked 12. Jack Flaherty has allowed 26 hits and 15 earned runs through his last 23.1 innings. Both the Cardinals and Tigers have found offensive success as of late. We should see some fireworks in game 1 given the pitching struggles. I'll take the over.

Game 2 Prediction: It would be nice to know who the Tigers are throwing out there on the mound, but I'll lean Detroit regardless. Steven Matz has allowed 25 hits and 13 earned runs in his last 19 innings, and he's walked 6 batters in his last 9.1 innings. Matz is allowing a .306 batting average in 24.1 innings this season overall. I don't care who the Tigers name a starter, it doesn't change how rough Matz has been up to this point. Give me the Tigers in game 2.
