- The Nationals have covered the run line in each of their last seven games against the Marlins following a win.
- The Nationals have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last five night games against NL East opponents that held a losing record.

Miami Marlins Recap
The Miami Marlins could sorely use the win here to snap a six-game losing streak after being swept in a three-game set by the Braves the series prior. Miami opened the scoring with 7 runs in the first two innings and despite giving those 10 runs in the middle innings, the Marlins tried coming back with two runs in the 7th, but would give them right back in the top of the 8th and not get any closer.
Marlins Offense Cooling Down
Entering Sunday, Luis Arraez has a team-high 34 hits with 5 doubles while Bryan De La Cruz has 29 hits with 5 doubles of his own as well as a team-high 5 home runs and 14 RBIs, while also owning the dubious distinction of leading Miami with 34 strikeouts this season. Jake Burger also leads the Fish with 15 RBIs as well so far this season.

- The Marlins have failed to cover the run line in each of their last 17 games as home favorites against National League opponents.
- The Marlins have trailed after 5 innings in four of their last five games as favorites.
- The 'Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs' market has hit in each of the Marlins' last three night games at LoanDepot Park.
Nationals vs. Marlins Prediction
I’m on the Nationals in this one. The Nationals just keep finding a way in this series and while Miami has been better against righties than lefties, they smashed Patrick Corbin on Sunday and still gave up a whole boatload of runs in the middle innings to blow the game for themselves in a game they should’ve coasted in with that big lead. Washington is taking advantage of the winnable situations when they get them, while Miami is still figuring out how to do that. I’ll side with Washington here.
