Lance Lynn had a solid start though, going 5.0 innings with one earned on five hits and three walks.

In the Sunday rubber match the Tigers bagged 10 team hits along the way to a 4-1 victory. St. Louis Cardinals vs Detroit Tigers Prediction
I’ll probably try the Tigers in this one. At least some of that is due to Matz’s recent struggles. He was solid on April 12 versus the Diamondbacks with 4.2 innings and one earned on eight hits. In the two starts since then however, Matz has given up 12 earned runs on 13 hits and six walks in 9.1 combined innings. He’s 0-2 in that pair.
On Sunday in their weekend series finale, Detroit got a pretty well-rounded effort from the whole team. After Skubal exited, the bullpen came through with 2.0 innings, no earned, one hit, one walk and three strikeouts. Every batter except for Colt Keith (0-for-4) had at least one hit, while both Jake Rogers (two runs) and Wenceel Perez (two RBI) had home runs. I like Detroit to keep that momentum going into the early-week series.
