The Cincinnati Reds will host the Los Angeles Angels for their interleague series finale this Sunday from the Great American Ball Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s an Angels vs Reds Prediction.

Los Angeles Angels Preview

Los Angeles enters at 9-12 after losing to Cincinnati, 7-5. The Angels came up just short in game two, and they’ll seek different results this Sunday. LAA is batting .238, while scoring 3.93 runs per game, with a team ERA of 4.83.

LAA’s Projected Starter

Jose Soriano (0-2, 4.80 ERA, 15 K) will open the game for Los Angeles. The sophomore pitcher turned in his best outing of the season in Tampa last week, striking out six over five innings pitched, while holding the Rays to just one run. Soriano has delivered mixed results through his first four appearances, but he’ll look to build on the solid start this Sunday in Cincinnati.

Los Angeles’ Player Props

  • Mike Trout has totaled multiple bases in five of the previous seven games, and he’s posting splits of .270/8/11.
  • Taylor Ward leads Anaheim in hits (24), and RBI (21), while batting .296.
  • Luis Rengifo has recorded at least one RBI in each of the Angels' last five games against NL opponents.

Cincinnati Reds Preview

Cincinnati comes in at 11-9 after defeating Los Angeles, 7-5. The Reds used a fast start  to take the second leg, and they’ll look to triple down here in game three. Cincinnati is batting .325, while scoring 5.28 runs per game, with a team ERA of 4.23.

Cincy’s Projected Starter

Frankie Montas (2-2, 4.34 ERA, 14 K) will get the call for Cincinnati. The veteran righty was blitzed in Seattle last time out, giving up five runs through just two innings of work en route to a second straight defeat. Montas opened the year with a pair of strong performances, including six innings of shutout ball on Opening Day, so there’s a chance he bounces back here versus LAA.

Cincinnati’s Player Props

  • Jonathan India has scored at least one run in each of his last six home appearances against AL opponents that held a losing record.
  • TJ Friedl has recorded at least one hit in each of his last nine appearances against AL opponents.
  • Jonathan India has recorded at least one Single in each of the Reds' last four games as favorites against AL West opponents
  • Spencer Steer also tallied multiple base knocks in the two wins over Washington, and he’s hitting .400, with three runs batted in.
  • Elly De La Cruz recorded a hit in each matchup with the Nationals, and he’s batting .273.

LA Angels Team Facts

  • The Angels have lost each of their last six games at Great American Ball Park.
  • The Angels have trailed after 7 innings in each of their last six road games against National League opponents.

Cincinnati’s Team Facts

  • The Reds have won 13 of their last 14 home games against AL West opponents.

Angels vs Reds Prediction

Cincinnati has ripped off two quick wins,  and I believe they’ll capitalize on the slumping Angels. LAA’s going through a transition season, and whenever their losses pile up, they should be targeted. If Frankie Montas bounces back on the hill this one will be Cincinnati’s game to win. Back the Reds for this interleague battle.
