The Oakland A’s and the Cleveland Guardians meet Saturday in MLB action from Progressive Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Oakland A’s vs. Cleveland Guardians prediction.
Oakland A’s Team Preview
The Oakland A’s come into this one looking to bounce back from a 10-2 loss to the Guardians in Friday’s series opener. Shea Langeliers leads the A’s with 4 home runs and 9 RBIs while Zack Gelof has a team-high 27 strikeouts as well as 3 stolen bases this season. JJ Bleday has a team-high 18 hits with 3 doubles and J.D. Davis and Lawrence Butler also have 3 doubles as well this season. Alex Wood will start this one for Oakland and is 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA and 16 strikeouts this season. The A's will face the Yankees following this series.
Cleveland Guardians Team Preview
The Cleveland Guardians come into this game looking to add on to Friday’s beatdown win over the A’s. Steven Kwan leads the Guardians with 30 hits as part of a .349 batting average while Josh Naylor has a team-high 5 home runs along with 14 RBIs. Jose Ramirez has a team-high 17 RBIs along with 3 home runs while Brayan Rocchio has a team-high 6 doubles as well this season. Logan Allen will get the start for the Guardians in this one and is 2-0 with a 5.06 ERA and 17 strikeouts this season. The Guardians will take on the Red Sox after this series.
A's vs. Guardians Prediction
I’m on the over in this one. We saw these two starters face off against their respective opposition earlier this year, and the A’s got to Logan Allen early and often while Cleveland did the same to Alex Wood who looks like a shell of his former self from his Dodger days. Normally these two teams are not ones I’d associate with large amounts of run production, but I think the starting pitching matchup here lends itself to a higher-scoring game. Give me the over here.
Chris’s Pick Over 7.5
