The Houston Astros will host the Atlanta Braves for game one of their interleague series this Monday from Minute Maid Park on the MLB Network. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Braves vs Astros Prediction.

Atlanta Preview: Will the Braves Breeze Through this Former World Series Matchup?

Atlanta enters at 9-5 after defeating Miami, 9-7. The Braves used ninth inning results to secure the series victory, and they’ll look to bring that momentum down to Texas this week. Atlanta is batting .299, while scoring 4.2 runs per game, with a team ERA of 4.74.

Projected Starter

Reynaldo Lopez (1-0, 0.75 ERA, 11 K) will make the start for Atlanta. The veteran righty followed up his revenge start in the Southside with a strong outing versus the Mets, striking out six over six scoreless frames en route to a victory. The former longtime White Sox pitcher has come on strong with the Braves early on, and he’ll look to keep things going here in Space City.

Atlanta’s Player Props

  • Marcell Ozuna has recorded at least one hit in each of the Braves' last 13 games as favorites.
  • Adam Duvall has recorded at least one total base in each of his last 11 appearances against the Astros.
  • Ronald Acuna Jr. ranks T1st in the league in Steals (7) this season.

Houston Preview: Can Astros Build on Series Win Against the Braves?

Houston comes in at 6-11 after defeating Texas, 8-5. The Astros held off a late rally from the Rangers to pin the divisional victory, and they’ll attempt to build on that momentum here versus Atlanta. Houston is batting .276, while scoring 3.71 runs per game, with a team ERA of 5.34.

Projected Starter

Spencer Arrighetti (0-1, 21.00 ERA, 3 K) will take the hill for Houston. The rookie righty was blitzed in his MLB debut in KC, giving up seven runs in just three innings of work en route to a loss. Arrighetti’s first taste of league action didn’t go well, but facing a resurgent Royals club in Kansas City right now is tough for anyone, and he’ll face another stiff test here with Atlanta.

Houston’s Player Props

  • Jose Altuve has tallied three base knocks in three of the last four games, and he leads Houston in batting (.382) and hits (23).
  • Yordan Alvarez recorded a run in all three matchups with Texas, and he’s posting a line of .328/4/12.
  • Kyle Tucker produced six runs in the versus the Rangers, and he now leads the Astros in RBI (15), while hitting .269.
  • Jeremy Pena brings an eight-game hit streak into this series, and he’s batting .333, with 8 runs batted in.

Atlanta’s Team Facts

  • The Braves have led after 3 innings in each of their last three night games.

Houston’s Team Facts

  • The Astros have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven night games following a home win

Braves vs Astros Prediction: Atlanta Asserts Themselves with a Game One Victory

Houston did themselves justice by taking two games from Texas prior to this heavyweight matchup, but they may have their hands full with a strong Atlanta team coming in. The Braves have dealt with some inconsistency themselves, but I like them coming out strong and sending a message in game one. Let’s back Atlanta for this interleague matchup on Monday. L
