Cleveland Guardians Team Preview
The Cleveland Guardians come into this one looking to build on an 8-0 opening day win over Oakland last time out. Tyler Freeman and David Fry each had a multi-hit game with a double and an RBI while Andres Gimenez and Austin Hedges each had a base hit and an RBI. Josh Naylor added a double while Steven Kwan had a base knock of his own to round out the offense for Cleveland in the win. Oakland A’s Team Preview
The Oakland A’s come into this one looking to bounce back after their beatdown loss at the hands of Cleveland last time out. JJ Bleday led the A’s by going 2 for 4 with a double while J.D. Davis and Nick Allen each had a base hit as well to make up the four base hits for Oakland in the losing effort with the rest of Oakland’s lineup batting 0 for 20 with 9 strikeouts. Alex Wood took the loss on the mound after allowing six runs on seven hits with three strikeouts over just 3.1 innings of work. Ross Stripling will get the start here and was 0-5 with a 5.36 ERA and 70 strikeouts last season. The Athletics will face the Red Sox following this series.

- The Athletics have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last five night games against American League opponents that held a winning record.
- The 'Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs' market has hit in each of the last six games between the Guardians and Athletics.
- The Athletics have trailed after 5 innings in each of their last six home night games.
Guardians vs. A’s Prediction
I’m on the Guardians here. I’m sure at some point we will be able to find value with the A’s as a home underdog, but it doesn’t feel like it right now and the Guardians are still heads and shoulders the better team in this matchup. Oakland’s already looking like they’re in midseason form, struggling to put together offense and Ross Stripling likely isn’t the answer on the bump. Give me the Guardians here.
