The Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins face off on Wednesday in Game 2 of their AL Wild Card showdown at Target Field. In Game 1 it was the Twins that were able to secure the 3-1 victory.
Royce Lewis is Quickly Becoming a Superstar
If the rest of the MLB hasn’t been put on notice yet, Royce Lewis is a superstar, the only question is can he stay healthy? Lews has been dealing with a hamstring injury the last couple of weeks, and there was doubt if he would even play in this game. Not only did Lewis play though, he hit two home runs, and drove in all three runs that the Twins scored. On the mound for the Twins in this game will be Sonny Gray and he has pitched like a Cy Young winner all season. Over his last three starts he has gone 17 innings total and given up only two runs total.
Blue Jays Have Backs Against The Wall
The Blue Jays now have their backs against the wall after losing the first game and they weren’t able to get the offense going. The Blue Jays actually outhit the Twins 6-5, but they only had one run. The offense couldn’t get anything going early and in this game they can’t blet Gray lock in early, or this is going to be a long game. On the mound for the Blue Jays will be Jose Berrios who will be looking to beat his former team. In his last start against the Yankees he went six innings giving up five hits and four runs.
Shane’s Free Pick
The Twins are going to advance here. Royce Lewis is a superstar but this game is going to come to down to the pitching. Sonny Gray has been lights out all season and he’s going to lockdown here. Berrios has really struggled in his last couple of starts and it’s going to be no different in this game. The Twins will score enough, and Minnesota is going to secure the victory.
