The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners face off Saturday in an MLB showdown at T-Mobile Park.
Mariners in a Must Win Situation
The Mariners know that is basically a must win for them as they are battling for an American League Wild Card spot. In the first game of the series the Mariners scored three runs including two runs in the bottom of the 9th. The Mariners are averaging 4.7 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.11 runs per game. The offense is ranked 12th in the league while the pitching is ranked 6th. The offense getting out to a fast start is going to be important for the Mariners here.
Rangers Need Bats to be Consistent
The Rangers bats have been inconsistent heading into this game, and it’s going to need to be something that is fixed before the playoffs. In the first game of this series the Rangers only scored two runs and that led to the defeat. The Rangers are averaging 5.5 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.44 runs per game. The offense is ranked 33rd while the pitching is ranked 14th.
Shane’s Free Pick
In this game it’s going to be the Mariners that find success. The Mariners are going to find the offensive success early in this game and the Rangers bats are going to struggle in this game. Look for the Mariners to score five or six runs here and that will be enough for the Mariners to get the job done.
