The Miami Marlins and New York Mets face off on Tuesday in an MLB showdown at Citi Fied in New York City.
Marlins Try to Win Wild Card
The Marlins need every win at this point of the season as they try to battle for a Wild Card spot. Over the weekend the Marlins faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers and they were able to win two of the three games. On Sunday the Marlins pitching gave up only one run and that led to the five run victory. The Marlins are averaging 4.16 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.48 runs per game. On the mound for the Marlins is Braxton Garrett who sits with a 9-6 record and an ERA of 3.53.
Can Mets Pick up a Win?
The Mets have really struggled heading into this game and coming into this game they have lost four games in a row. On Sunday the Mets offense only scored two runs and that led to the defeat. The Mets are averaging 4.4 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.53 runs per game. The offense is ranked 20th while the pitching is ranked 18th. On the mound for the Mets will be Joey Luchessi and he sits with a 3-0 record and an ERA of 2.88.
Shane’s Free Pick
This total is too high. Garrett and Luchessi have both been good this season and they are both going to lockdown here. I especially expect the Mets offense to struggle as they have been super inconsistent all season. This game is going to be lower scoring and the under will cash. Back the under.
