The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox clash Sunday in game 4 of an MLB series at Guaranteed Rate Field. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.
Minnesota Twins Betting Preview
The Twins look for a win an after splitting their last 10 games. The Twins have a 7 game lead in the AL Central. The Twins pitching staff is 7th in ERA (3.92), 4th in WHIP (1.20) and 1st in quality starts (71). The Twins offense is 12th in runs per game (4.70), 21st in batting average (.242) and 5th in homers (211). Carlos Correa leads the Twins with 118 hits and 65 RBI, while Donovan Solano and Max Kepler have combined for 204 hits and 98 RBI. Sonny Gray gets the ball, and he is 7-7 with a 2.96 ERA and 165 strikeouts this season. Gray is 5-2 with a 3.98 ERA and 57 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.
Chicago White Sox Betting Preview
The White Sox need a win after losing 6 of their last 8 games. The White Sox have the third-worst record in the AL at 57-92. The White Sox pitching staff is 26th in ERA (4.96), 26th in WHIP (1.43) and 23rd in quality starts (44). The White Sox offense is 27th in runs per game (4.11), 24th in batting average (.242) and 20th in homers (161). Andrew Benintendi leads the White Sox with 138 hits and 43 RBI, while Luis Robert Jr. and Andrew Vaughn have combined for 272 hits and 150 RBI. Dylan Cease gets the ball, and he is 7-7 with a 4.87 ERA and 191 strikeouts this season. Cease is 4-4 with a 4.71 ERA and 74 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.
Randy’s Pick
The White Sox have had issues stringing together wins all season long, and there's no reason to expect anything different here with Dylan Cease and his near 5 ERA on the mound. The Twins are closing in on a division title and Sonny Gray has been great with his 2.96 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. Gray has been even better at home, with a 2.77 ERA and an average of a strikeout per inning. You can argue this price should be a bit steeper than it is. Give me the Twins for a bounce back effort.
Randy’s Pick Minnesota Twins -155
