The Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles do battle Saturday night in a crucial AL East MLB game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview
The Rays look to stay hot after winning 9 of their last 11 games. The Rays are tied with the Orioles for first in the AL East. The Rays pitching staff is 2nd in ERA (3.76), 1st in WHIP (1.16) and 16th in quality starts (49). The Rays' offense is 4th in runs per game (5.31), 5th in batting average (.259) and 3rd in homers (213). Yandy Diaz leads the Rays with 159 hits and 73 RBI, while Randy Arozarena and Wander Franco have combined for 259 hits and 139 RBI. Tyler Glasnow will start for the Rays here and is 9-5 with a 3.15 ERA and 142 strikeouts this season.
Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview
The Orioles need a win here to snap a 4-game losing streak. The Orioles are first place in the AL East. The Orioles pitching staff is 14th in ERA (4.06), 11th in WHIP (1.27) and 9th in quality starts (62). The Orioles' offense is 6th in runs per game (5.07), 10th in batting average (.257) and 16th in homers (173). Adley Rutschman leads the Orioles with 144 hits and 70 RBI, while Anthony Santander and Austin Hays have combined for 272 hits and 145 RBI. Grayson Rodriguez will start for Baltimore here and is 5-4 with a 4.88 ERA and 110 strikeouts this season.
Randy’s Pick
The Rays should be favored for obvious reasons as they're playing the better ball, but the Orioles are too good of a team to let these losses pile up, and I'd think they can get the job done in front of their home fans. Tyler Glasnow watches his ERA jump to 3.48 on the road, and Grayson Rodriguez has been respectable lately, allowing 4 earned runs in his last 10.1 innings. The numbers point to the Rays getting the job done here, but again, the O's have been kind to bettors all season, and I'd think they can continue to overcome the odds and prevail in a crucial game.
