The Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Kaufmann Stadium. In the first game of this series it was the Pirates that were able to secure the 5-0 victory. In Game 2 it was much of the same as the Pirates were able to secure the 6-3 victory.

All About the Young Guys for Kansas City

It’s all about guys like Bobby Witt Jr for the Royals now as this season is all but over and they need the young people to step up the rest of the season. On Monday the offense failed to score any runs and that led to the 5-0 defeat. The Royals are averaging 3.95 runs while their pitching is giving up 5.35 runs per game. The offense is ranked 29th in the league and the pitching is ranked 28th. Witt has hit 26 home runs and driven in 88 RBIs.

Pirates Offense Continues to Be Inconsistent

The Pirates have ultra inconsistent heading into this game with their offense and they need to find a way to get the offense going here. Against the Chicago Cubs over the weekend the pitching was also awful. The Pirates are averaging 4.18 runs while their pitching is giving up 4.87 runs per game. The offense is ranked 24th in baseball while the pitching is ranked 22nd. Bryan Reynolds has hit 18 home runs and driven in 64 RBIs.
