The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Miami Marlins for game one of their three-game set this Friday from Dodger Stadium.

Marlins Preview & Projected Starter

Miami moved to 62-57 after defeating Los Angeles. The Marlins came through and cooled off a hot Dodgers team, and they’ll look to avoid dropping the series here on Saturday. Miami offense is scoring 4.02 runs per game, while batting .260, with a .321 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.10 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP.

Eury Perez (5-4, 3.19 ERA, 24 Ks) will get the call for Miami in game one. The rookie pitcher hasn’t fared well through two starts since returning from load management. Perez allowed four runs in four innings to the Yankees last time, and he’ll look to put that behind him here in what will be another test with the LAD lineup.

Braxton Garrett (7-3, 3.91 ERA, 122 Ks) will take the mound for Miami in game two. The fourth-year lefty held his own versus Houston last time out, tossing five scoreless frames to earn his seventh victory of the season. Garrett has turned things around after going through a rough month of July, and he’ll look to pin his third straight win here in LA Saturday night.

Marlins Player Trends & Props

Luis Arraez has totaled multiple bases in three of the last five games, and he’s leading the majors in batting (.361) and hits (164), with 58 RBI.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. has collected a hit in four of the previous six  games, and he’s posting splits of .246/11/25 through 59 games.

Jorge Soler has collected a hit in eight of the previous ten games, and he leads Miami in home runs (28) and RBI (62).

Bryan De La Cruz has recorded a hit in seven of the last ten games, and he’s second on the team in both categories with sixteen home runs and 62 runs batted in.

Dodgers Preview & Projected Starter

Los Angeles moved to 74-46 after Miami. The Dodgers snuck out of game three with a 1-0 victory, and they’ll now look to win their thirteenth straight game. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per game, while batting .248, with a .330 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.50 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP.

Caleb Ferguson (7-3, 2.38 ERA 53 Ks) is set to open game one for Los Angeles. The longtime Dodgers relief pitcher is enjoying another strong season in LA, and he earned his seventh victory of the season last time out against Milwaukee. Ferguson has held teams scoreless in eight of his last ten outings, and he’ll look to get LAD off to a good start here Saturday afternoon.

Julio Urias (10-6, 5.02 ERA, 63 Ks) will take the mound for Los Angeles. The eighth-year lefty put together a gem last time out in divisional action against Colorado, tossing a season-high twelve strikeouts over seven innings of work to earn his tenth victory. Urias has been dialed in this month, picking up three straight wins, while allowing three runs combined in those trio of starts. The former 20- game starter has held teams to three or less in each of his nine appearances at Dodger Stadium, and he’ll look to continue that trend here versus Miami.

Dodgers Player Trends & Props

Freddie Freeman is uncharacteristically hitless in four of his last five games, but he still leads the Dodgers in BA (.335) hits (16”), and RBI (83), with 23 homers.

Mookie Betts has multiple hits in five straight games, and he leads LAD in home runs (31), with 81 RBI, while batting .295.

J.D. Martinez returned the lineup in the Milwaukee series, and produced a pair of runs to bring his splits to .258/25/78.

Amed Rosario has produced a run in three of the previous five games, and he’s batting .264, with 52 RBI for the season.

Corey’s Free Pick G1

Miami cooled off a scorching Dodgers team last night, handing them their first loss in over two weeks, and they might end up paying for that here in game two. Eury Perez’s shaky return to the big league could take another left turn, as he’ll face one of the best lineups in the league, and they might be a bit angry. The Over will be play, but I like rolling with the Dodgers on the revenge narrative here in game one.

Corey’s Free Pick G2

Game two may be a bit more controlled with two talented lefties set to go in Julio Urias and Braxton Garrett. Both have tightened the bolts after rough July’s, and while I’d like to tinker with the pitcher’s duel here, it’s something about those Dodgers at home. This one should be closely contested, but I like Los Angeles holding things down Saturday evening to win the series. Back LAD for game two.

Corey’s Pick G1: LAD -1.5/ G2: LAD ML
