The Chicago White Sox will head to Queens to start an interleague series with the New York Mets this Tuesday from Citi Field on SNY.

White Sox Betting Preview

Chicago enters at 40-55 after taking two of three from Atlanta. The White Sox proved to be more pesky than ever after stealing two on the road from the Braves, and they’ll look for more success against the NL East here. The Chicago offense is 4.72 scoring runs per game, while batting .235, with a .292 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.72 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP. Luis Robert plated multiple runs in both wins in Atlanta, and he leads Chicago in hits (97), home runs (27), and RBI (57).  Andrew Benintendi recorded three hits in both victories, and he leads the Sox in batting (.290). Joe Burger has homered in two straight games, and he’s up to 21 home runs for the season.

Lucas Giolito (6-5, 3.45 ERA, 117 Ks) will get the call for Chicago. The eighth-year righty closed the first half of the season with another quality start, holding St. Louis to two runs over seven innings of work. Giolito would've been an All-Star selection on a less dysfunctional ball club, as he was very consistent during the first portion of the season, and he gives the Sox a good chance to win whenever he’s slated to go. Giolito’s first trip to New York was successful, as he struck out seven over six scoreless frames in the Bronx in a win over the Yankees.

Mets Betting Preview

New York moved to 43-50 after dropping two of three to Los Angeles. The Mets snapped a four-game skid with a walkoff victory in game three, and they’ll look to capitalize on an inconsistent White Sox team here. The New York offense is scoring 3.98 runs per game, while batting .240, with a .321 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.39 ERA, with a 1.35 WHIP. Pete Alonso only has one hit over his last six games, but he still leads NYM in home runs (26) and RBI (61). Francisco Lindor was also hitless in the Dodgers series, but he's still right behind Alonso for the team-lead in RBI at 60, with 19 homers. Brandon Nimmo produced runs in the last two games against LAD, and he leads the team in batting (.263) and hits (93), with 14 HR and 43 RBI.

Carlos Carrasco (3-3, 5.16 ERA, 43 Ks) will get the call for New York. The fourteen-year pitcher closed the first half of the season with his best outing of the year in Phoenix, turning the clock back with eight shutout innings to earn his third winning decision against the Diamondbacks. Carrasco has quietly cleaned up a messy start to the season, and he’ll look to keep things going versus Chicago here.

Chicago vs New York Trends

Chicago is 48-47 against the spread this season, with a 42-47-6 O/U record. New York is 37-56 ATS this year, with a 38-51-4 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

New York had a really tough time getting anything going against Los Angeles, and those struggles may carry into game one with Lucas Giolito set to start for Chicago. Giolito has been one of lone bright spots for the White Sox this season, and he’s going to keep them within striking distance here in game one. Let’s bet on their momentum rolling here into Queens, and take the profitable shot with Chicago Tuesday.
