Mets Betting Preview

New York moved to 13-7 following the win over San Francisco. The Mets have now won eight of their last ten, and they’ll look to take this momentum into next week with a big home set with Atlanta looming. The New York offense is scoring 4.37 runs per game, while batting .227, with a .337 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.15 ERA, with a 1.38 WHIP. Brandon Nimmo has been on a heater, recording multiple hits in six of the last eight games to lead the Mets in batting average at .368. Pete Alonso has recorded a hit in eight of nine games, and he’s second on the team in hitting (.286), while leading in RBI (17).

Joey Lucchesi will make the start for New York. The fifth-year pitcher will be making his first appearance since 2021 after missing last season with injury. Lucchesi went 1-4 in eleven appearances, with a 4.46 ERA, and 41 strikeouts.

Giants Betting Preview

San Francisco is 5-10 following the loss to Miami. The Giants dropped their fourth straight game, and they’ll look to stop the bleeding Tuesday. The San Francisco offense is scoring 4.81 runs per game, while batting .240, with a .337 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.13 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP. Thairo Estrada leads the Giants in hitting (.324) after recording a hit in six of the last seven games. J.D. Davis has recorded multiple hits in three of the last six games, and he’s first on the team in RBI (13).

Anthony DeSclafani (1-0, 1.42 ERA, 16 Ks) will make the start for San Francisco. The tenth-year pitcher has come out sharp, delivering his third straight quality start versus Detroit last week. DeSclafani struck out five over 6 ⅔ innings of work, and he’s allowed three runs total through three starts.

NYM vs SFG Trends

New York is 12-8 against the spread this season, with a 9-11 over/under record. San Francisco is 7-11 ATS this year, with a 10-8 O/U record.

Corey's Free Pick

The pitching matchup has a chance to go a long way here. With the Mets sending Joey Lucchesi out for his first MLB action in nearly two years, Anthony DeSclafani’s form feels trustworthy in this spot. The veteran pitcher showed flashes of this in his first season in the Bay back in 2021, and he should definitely give the Giants an upper hand on the mound. If he’s able to contain a talented Mets lineup, it should come down to a matter of run support and how much success SFG can have against a possibly rusty Lucchesi. Spot San Fran the runs for safety here.
