The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Colorado Rockies this Monday for a two-game divisional set from Dodger Stadium. LAD led the season series by a small margin of 12-8 in 2022.

Ryan Feltner will take the bump for Colorado. The second-year pitcher went 4-9 during his rookie season, and posted a 5.83 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 20 appearances. Feltner did manage to earn one of his wins versus the Dodgers, while striking out six in two outings.

Los Angeles is 2-2 after dropping the series finale to Arizona. Inconsistency bit LAD for the second time in three days, as they just couldn’t get anything going offensively. The Dodgers scored 18 runs in their two wins, so they’ve still got the juice at the plate, the two losses to the DBacks were killer though. Outfielder Trayce Thompson exploded for three homers and eight RBI in the Saturday win over Arizona. 

Michael Grove is set to make the start for Los Angeles. The second-year pitcher will have his number called, as the Dodgers are dealing with injuries to star arms Walker Buehler and Tony Gonsolin. Grove posted a 1-0 record in seven appearances, including four bullpen starts, and he posted a 4.60 ERA, while tossing 24 strikeouts.

Los Angeles has to avoid letting Colorado stick around in this contest after two bad early divisional home losses to Arizona. I believe in trusting a sense of urgency from the Dodgers here to get back in the win column, but with two inexperienced arms headed to the mound for this one, we may just see some runs here.
