The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs face off on Sunday in an MLB showdown at Wrigley Field. The two teams have split the first two games of this series. 

Brewers Betting Preview

The Brewers have scored only three runs total so far to start the season, but it still has been enough to win a game. The pitching has been good so far this season giving up only five runs, and they are going to need good pitching again here. On Saturday the Brewers offense was led by William Contreras who finished with one hit and two RBIs. On the mound for the Brewers will be Eric Lauer who finished last season with an 11-7 record and an ERA of 3.69. 

Cubs Betting Preview

On the other side of this matchup is the Cubs who need to find a way to get the bats going in this game. The real bright spot for the offense so far this season has been Dansby Swanson who finished with three hits in the first game. There are a lot of questions about how the offense will play this season, and there still seem to be questions. On the mound for the Cubs will be Jameson Tailon who pitched last season for the New York Yankees and finished with a 14-5 record and an ERA of 3.91.

Brewers vs Cubs Trends

The Cubs are 7-1 in their last eight home games. The under is 4-0-1 in Lauer’s last five road starts. The under is 6-0 in Brewers last 6 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. The under is 4-0 in the Brewers last four games against the National League Central.

Runs have been really hard to come by so far this season for both of these teams and it’s going to be no different in this game. Both offenses have some major question marks, and I especially don’t trust this Cubs offense to do a whole lot here. This is a game where neither team is going to finish with over three runs, and the under is going to cash. This is one of my favorite plays on the board for Sunday.
