The Cleveland Guardians were 92-70 last season and finished in first place in the AL Central. Cleveland was able to defeated Tampa Bay 2-0 in the Wild Card round, but lost to the Yankees 3-2 in the ALDS. Cleveland went 12-16 during Spring Training this year and didn’t hit or pitch particularly well. The Guardians do have the advantage of playing in the very weak AL Central, so they should have a shot at making the postseason once again. The projected starting pitcher for Cleveland is Shane Bieber, who was 13-8 with a 2.88 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP last year.
Mariners Preview
The Seattle Mariners were 90-72 last year and finished second in the AL West standings. Seattle defeated Toronto 2-0 in the Wild Card round, but lost 3-0 to the Astros in the ALDS. The Mariners went 14-13 during Spring Training this year and they were middle of the pack with their hitting and pitching. Seattle is another team that has a lot of young talent and they should be exciting to watch again this year. The projected starting pitcher for Seattle is Luis Castillo, who was 8-6 last year with a 2.99 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP.

I don’t think we are going to see a ton of offense in this game, but I like Seattle to put a couple of runs on the board for the win.
