The Altanta Braves and Miami Marlins face off on Monday in an MLB game at Loandepot Park in Miami.
The Marlins come into this game with a 67-92 record overall but they have won two straight games against the Milwaukee Brewers. On Sunday the Marlins scored four runs and that was enough to win bay run. The Marlins are averaging 3.58 runs per game which is 28th in the league. Jesus Aguilar is having a nice season for the Marlins hitting 15 home runs and driving in 49 RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Braves who sit with a 100-59 record and they are coming off a series sweep against the Mets. The Braves magic number is down to one, and they can clinch the division here. The Braves offense has been strong this season averaging 4.89 runs per game which is 3rd in the league. Matt Olson has hit 32 home runs and dirven in 100 RBIs.
On the mound for the Marlins will be Jesus Luzardo who sits with a 3-7 record and an ERA of 3.53. In his last start against the Mets he went six innings giving up four hits and two runs. If the Marlins want any chance to get the job done they are going to need a really good start from Luzardo. If he is bad, the Marlins are going to struggle to get the job done.
The Braves are 4-1 in their last five games on Monday. The over is 4-0 in Luzardo’s last four starts. The under is 3-0-1 in the Marlins last four games. The under is 4-0 in the Braves last four games on Monday.
Every game still counts for the Braves, but I think they are going to struggle in this game. Luzardo in his last start gave up two runs, and he’s going to lockdown the Braves bats here. It might not be the prettiest game, but the Marlins are going to secure the win. Back the Marlins on the money line. This is a great value with the Marlins being underdogs.
