The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves face off on Sunday in an MLB showdown at Busch Stadium.The two teams have split the first two games of this series. On Saturday Kenley Jansen blew the lead late letting up a walk off walk. 

The Cardinals come into this game with 73-54 record overall and after a slow start to the season they have been quite impressive. On Saturday it wasn’t the most impressive, but they made the plays late with the offense to secure the win. On the other side of this matchup is the Braves who sit with a 79-49 record but if they want to win the NL East, they can’t be blowing games late like they did on Saturday. The Braves are averaging 4.98 runs per game which is 3rd in the league. Matt Olson is having a strong season for the Braves hitting 27 home runs and driving in 87 RBIs.

On the mound for the Braves is Jake Odorizzi who sits with a 5-5 record and an ERA of 3.95.In his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he went six innings giving up four htis and one run. 

On the mound for the Cardinals will be Adam Wainwright who sits with a 9-9 record and an ERA of 3.11. In his last start against the Cubs, he went six innings giving up five hits and two runs. 

The Braves are 1-5 in their last six games as a road underdog. The over is 7-0-2 in the Braves last nine games as a road underdog. The over is 4-0-1 in the Braves last five during Game 3 of a series. 

Odorizzi has been sold, but even better as of late has been Wainwright, and the way they lost on Saturday is going to stay in the back of the head of the Braves. Look for the Braves bats to struggle against Wainwright who gave up two runs in his last start and that will be the difference as the Cardinals secure the win.
