The Arizona Diamondbacks and Kansas City Royals face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Kaufmann Stadium. On Tuesday the Diamondbacks were able to secure the 7-3 victory. 

The Diamondbacks come into this game with a 56-66 record overall and on Tuesday they really could have scored more than seven runs. The Diamondbacks' biggest issue this season has been the consistency, and they are currently giving up 4.53 runs per game which is 23rd in the league. The offense hasn’t been that much better giving up averaging 4.53 runs per game. Christian Walker has been the top player for the D-Backs hitting 29 home runs and driving in 70 RBIs. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Kansas City Royals who sit with a 50-75 record overall and again on Tuesday the pitching really struggled. This Royals team has struggled this season and the pitching has been a big reason for that. The Royals are giving up five runs per game which is 26th in the league. The offense hasn’t been a whole lot better, and far too often they haven’t even done a lot to scare opposing pitchers early in games. 

On the mound for the Diamondbacks will be Zac Gallen who sits with a 9-2 record and an ERA of 2.78. Over Gallen’s last three starts he has gone 21.1 innings and given up zero runs.

On the mound for the Royals is Brady Singer who sits with a 6-4 record and an ERA of 3.27. In Singer’s last start against the Tampa Bay Rays, he went six innings giving up five hits and two runs. 

The Diamondbacks are 6-0 in Gallen’s last six starts. The Royals are 1-6 in their last seven games against a right-handed starter. The under is 7-0 in the Diamondbacks last seven games. 

The Diamondbacks have won the last six starts by Gallen, and it’s going to be no different in this game. The Royals have one of the worst offenses in baseball and they are going to really struggle in this game again to score. Look for the Diamondbacks to reach at least their season average, and that will be enough to win on the run line.
