The Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals face off on Sunday in an MLB showdown at Tropicana Field. The Rays have won two of the first three games of this series.

The Rays come into this game with a 64-55 record overall and with how close the American League Wild Card is, every win is important. The Rays have been winning games, but the offense could use some improvement. The Rays are averaging 4.13 runs per game which is 23rd in the league. Randy Arozarena is having a big season for the Rays hitting 16 home runs and driving in 64 RBIs.

On the other side of this matchup is the Royals who sit with a 49-73 record overall and coming into this game, the offense has really struggled. Over the last six games, the Royals have only scored eight runs total and they need to get the offense going here. The Royals are averaging 3.81 runs which is 25th in the league. The pitching also has been an issue and is ranked 27th in the league. Salvador Perez is having a big season hitting 17 home runs and driving in 54 RBIs.

On the mound for the Royals is Zack Greinke who sits with a 4-8 record and an ERA of 4.13. In his last start against the Twins he went six innings giving up nine hits and three runs.

The Royals are 1-6 in their last seven road games. The over is 4-0 in Greinke's last four starts overall. The over is 11-1 in Greinke's last 12 road starts. The over is 4-1 in Royals last 5 road games against a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.

The trends point towards the over, especially with Greinke on the mound and I expect he is going to struggle in this game. In his last start he gave up nine hits, and the Rays are going to have no issue scoring plenty of runs. The Royals will also add a few runs and the over is going to cash. This is one of my favorite plays on the board.
