On the other side of this matchup is the Rockies who sit with a 41-49 record overall but they are coming off three straight wins against the San Diego Padres. On Thursday the offense had another big game putting up eight runs, and that led to the three victories. The Rockies overall are averaging 4.54 runs per game which is 11th in the league. C.J. Cron has been the top offensive player hitting 20 home runs and driving in 68 RBIs.

On the mound for the Pirates is Jose Quintana who sits with a 2-4 record and an ERA of 3.59. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers, he went 4.1 innings giving up six hits and four runs.

On the mound for the Rockies is German Marquez who sits with a 5-7 record and an ERA of 5.66. In his last start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Marquez went seven innings giving up three hits and two runs.

Marquez is coming off a start where he pitched pretty well, but overall this season he has struggled, and I don’t think he is going to find a ton of success against the Pirates bats.
