The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox face off on Monday in an MLB showdown at Guaranteed Rate Field. These are key games for two teams who are competing for the American League Central.
The Twins sit with a 45-37 record overall and they were able to win two of three games against the Baltimore Orioles. In the two wins, it took some runs in the 9th inning to secure the walk of victories. The Twins offense has been inconsistent as of late, and they need to get the scoring going here. The pitching has been the strength of this team giving up 3.9 runs per game which is 6th best in the MLB.
On the other side of this matchup is the White Sox who sit with a 38-39 record overall but they have won four games in a row. Over the last three games, the White Sox gave up only seven runs, and that led to the series sweep. Overall this season the pitching has been an issue giving up 4.73 runs per game which is 23rd in the league. Luis Robert has hit eight home runs and driven in 40 RBIs.
On the mound for the Twins is Dylan Bundy who sits with a 4-4 record and an ERA of 4.71. In his last start against the Cleveland Guardians, Bundy went five innings giving up six hits and three runs.
On the mound for the White Sox is Johnny Cueto who sits with a 2-4 record and an ERA of 3.33. In Cueto’s last start he went six innings, giving up seven hits and three runs.
The White Sox are 4-0 in their last four games against the American League Central. The Twins are 0-5 in Bundy’s last five starts on four days of rest. The under is 4-0 in the White Sox’s last four home games against a right-handed starter.
Runs are going to be very hard to come by in this game. Bundy has been pitching better as of late and he will lock down the White Sox’s offense. The Twins offense has been inconsistent coming into this game, and they are going to struggle against Cueto who sits with an ERA of 3.33. It wouldn’t shock me if there were five runs or less scored, and the under is going to cash here.
