The San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies face off on Wednesday in a National League MLB showdown at Citizens Bank Park. The Giants have won the first two games of this series. It took extra innings on Tuesday, but the Giants won 7-4.

There was a ton of buzz surrounding the Phillies heading into the season, but they currently sit with a 21-29 record overall. The Phillies offense has been strong most of the season, but it’s been the pitching that has been an issue. They are giving up 4.43 runs per game which is 20th in baseball. It was the bullpen that let them down on Tuesday. Bryce Harper has hit 10 home runs and driven in 32 RBIs.

On the other side of this matchup is the Giants who sit with a 27-21 record and they have won three games in a row. In each of the last three games they have given up four runs, but their offense has been strong, averaging six runs per game during the stretch. The Giants offense has been strong all season averaging 5.04 runs per game which is 3rd best in baseball. Joc Pederson is having a big season and he has hit 12 home runs and driven in 29 RBIs. He hit a home run to secure the victory on Tuesday.

On the mound for the Giants is Carlos Rodon who sits with a 4-4 record and an ERA of 3.60. In his last start against the Cincinnati Reds, he went 5.1 innings giving up seven hits and three runs.

On the mound for the Phillies is Aaron Nola who sits with a 2-4 record and an ERA of 3.56. In his last start against the Atlanta Braves, he went 8.1 innings, giving up five hits and one run.

The Phillies are 0-4 in Nola's last 4 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance. The under is 8-1 in the Phillies last nine home games. The over is 7-1-1 in Nola’s last nine home starts.

Even though Nola has been good this season, I don’t trust the Phillies here. The Giants have scored at least five runs in each of the last three games, and they are going to run up the score again in this game. Rodon will have another quality start here, and the Giants will secure the victory.
