The Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at Fenway Park. In the first game of the series it was the Baltimore Orioles that secured the 12-8 victory.
After a slow start to the season, the Red Sox have been playing better the last couple of weeks, and even though they lost on Friday, the offense still scored eight runs. Over the last two games, the Red Sox’s offense has scored 24 runs total, and it’s going to be important in both of these games, the offense continues to be strong. A big reason for the success has been Trevor Story who is one of the hottest hitters in baseball.
On the other side of this matchup is the Orioles who sit with a 19-27 record overall and they had lost two games in a row before winning on Friday. The Orioles offense is averaging 3.71 runs per game which is ranked in the bottom third of the MLB. Anthony Santander has been the top player for the Orioles hitting eight home runs and driving in 24 RBIs.
On the mound for the Red Sox in Game 1 is Nathan Eovaldi who sits with a 1-2 record and an ERA of 4.10. In his last start against the Seattle Mariners he went 6.2 innings giving up four hits and two runs.
On the mound for the Red Sox in Game 2 is Josh Winckowski who is getting called up from the minors and set to make his major league debut.
The Red Sox are 1-5 in Eovaldi’s last six starts. The Red Sox are 2-9 in Eovaldi’s last 11 during Game 2 of a series. The under is 5-0-1 in the Orioles six games on Saturday. The Red Sox are 7-1 in their last eight games on grass.
In Game one the Orioles bats are going to struggle. Over the Orioles are averaging only 3.71 runs per game, and they are going to have issues against Eovaldi who gave up only two runs in his last start. Back the Red Sox.
In Game 2, the Orioles bats are going to wake up. Winckowski is making his major league debut, and there are going to be some nerves here. The Orioles bats were quite impressive putting up on Friday, and they will find success against Winckowski. Back the Orioles on the money line.
