The Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds face off on Sunday in an MLB showdown at the Great American Ballpark. These two teams faced off in a doubleheader on Saturday, and they split the games. In Game 1 the Reds won 9-2, but in the second game, the Pirates got some revenge winning 8-5. 

The Pirates come into this game with an 11-15 record overall, and one of their best offensive games of the season came in Game 2 on Saturday. The offense finished with eight runs and 13 hits. The offense hasn’t been great for this team, but in each of the last two games, they have scored at least seven runs. Michael Chavis has been the top player for the Pirates hitting three home runs and driving in 12 RBIs. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Cincinnati Reds who have had a terrible season, but they did win one of the games on Saturday. In both games the offense was good, and that is something they need to build on going forward. Brandon Drury has been the top offensive player hitting five home runs and driving in 15 RBIs.

Getting the start for the Pirates is Zach Thompson who sits with an 0-3 record and an ERA of 10.50.
