The Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers face off on Sunday in an interleague MLB showdown at Globe Life Field. On Friday it was the Braves that won 6-3. On Saturday, the Rangers got some revenge winning 3-1.
The Braves come into this game with a 10-12 record overall and they won two games in a row before losing on Saturday when their bats went ice cold. On Saturday the Braves only managed three hits and one run. They also give up one run in each of the first two innings, and they couldn’t bounce back from that. Austin Riley has been the top player for the Braves hitting six home runs and driving in 12 RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Texas Rangers who sit with a 7-14 record overall, but their win on Saturday might be the most impressive of the year. The pitching for this team has been awful, so the fact they could win a game where they only scored three runs, was impressive. Adolis Garcia has been the top player for the Rangers hitting four home runs and driving in 14 RBIs.
Getting the start for the Texas Rangers is Taylor Hearn who sits with an 0-2 record and an ERA of 7.47. In his last start against the Astros he went five innings giving up five hits and four runs.
The Rangers are 0-5 in Hearns last five home starts. The under is 3-0-2 in Hearn’s last five home starts. The under is 6-1 in the Rangers last seven overall. The under is 10-1 in the Braves last 11 during Game 3 of a series.
The Rangers are 0-5 in the last five starts for Taylor Hearn, and I don’t see it changing in this game. He is coming off a start where he gave up four runs, and I expect the Braves will tee off on him in this game. I could see the Braves scoring eight or nine runs, and that will leave them plenty of wiggle room to get the job done. Back the Braves on the run line.
