The Minnesota Twins face the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, April 29th, 2022 at Tropicana Field for game one of a three-game series.
The Minnesota Twins are one of the hottest teams in the MLB as Minnesota kept up its winning ways on Thursday. The Twins took down the Tigers by the final score of 7-1 to make it seven in a row in the W column. The Twins are now an impressive 11-8 this season after starting out 4-8 and towards the bottom of the AL Central standings. Now, Minnesota is in first place in the division standings after big wins against the White Sox, Royals, and Tigers. The Tampa Bay Rays were also victorious on Thursday as they took the final two games of their three-game set with the pesky Seattle Mariners. The Rays are now 11-8 this season and are currently in third place in a very competitive AL East division. The Rays will look to build on their two-game win streak, and they enter this series with an 8-5 record at Tropicana Field.
The Minnesota Twins are projected to bring right-hander Dylan Bundy to the mound to face the Rays. Bundy is 3-0 with an excellent 0.59 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP in his first 15.1 innings of work with the Twins. Bundy struggled quite a bit in 2021 with the Angels, but his first three outings in a Twins uniform have been very successful and Bundy will look to continue his winning ways on Thursday.
The Tampa Bay Rays are set to send right-hander Corey Kluber to the bump for game one of this series. Kluber is 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP in his first 14.2 innings this season. Kluber has allowed more hits and walks than you would want to see from a starter, but for the most part, he has pitched well for the Rays this season.
With how well the Twins are playing, I have to take them getting plus money here with the sharper starting pitcher. This should be a competitive and entertaining series, but I will take a shot with the road team in game one.
