The Kansas City Royals face the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 at Guaranteed Rate Field for game one of a three-game series.
The Kansas City Royals are on a four-game losing streak heading into this series with the White Sox and they were swept in a three-game set by the Mariners last time out. The Royals played in a few close games but were not able to take down the kings of the close game in the Mariners. The Royals are now 5-9 this season and are 0-4 in road contests as well. Kansas City is currently in last place in the AL Central standings but with the division's struggles early, the Royals only find themselves 2.0 games out of the division lead.
The Chicago White Sox are also struggling quite a bit as of late as they have been swept in back-to-back series and are on a seven-game losing streak. The White Sox's road struggles have continued as even though Chicago is 4-2 at home in 2022, its 2-7 road record is what puts the White Sox at 6-9 overall this season. The White Sox are only out of the division lead by 1.5 games and will look to bounce back at the place they play their best ball, Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Kansas City Royals are projected to bring left-hander Daniel Lynch to the mound to take on the White Sox. Lynch is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in his first 10.0 innings of work this season. Lynch has had an issue with the long ball as he has allowed three home runs already this season.
The Chicago White Sox are set to bring left-hander Dallas Keuchel to the bump for this one. Keuchel really struggled in his last outing as he was not able to go more than 1.0 inning after allowing 10 runs (seven earned) to the Cleveland Guardians in a blowout loss.
The White Sox have done really well against left-handed pitchers, especially at home, and I think Chicago rights some of its wrongs in this one. I like the White Sox on the moneyline here.
