The San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers face off Monday in a National League MLB showdown at American Family Field.
The Giants come into this game with an 11-5 record overall and they swept the Washington Nationals over the weekend. On Sunday, the Giants scored 12 runs, and that was enough to secure the easy victory. The GIants are one of the most well-rounded teams in all of baseball, and the offense is averaging 4.94 runs per game. Thairo Estrada has been the top player for the Giants hitting two home runs and driving in 10 RBIs. Five different players have driven in at least eight RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Brewers who sit with a 10-6 record overall and on Sunday night the pitching staff was strong against the Phillies, leading to a 1-0 victory. For the most part this season the Brewers offense hasn’t been top-notch, so it’s had to be the pitching that has carried them. Rowdy Tellez has been the top player for the Brewers hitting three home runs and driving in eight RBI’s.
Getting the start for the Giants will be Sam Long and in 4.2 innings so far this season he has given up two hits and zero runs. Long went two innings against the Nationals on the 22nd.
Getting the start for the Brewers will be Corbin Burnes and in 19 innings this year he has given up 11 hits and five runs. In Burnes last start against the Pirates, he went seven innings giving up four hits and two runs.
The Brewers are 1-4 i their last five games played on Monday. The Giants are 4-0 in their last four games against the National League Central. The under is 3-0-2 in the Brewers last five games. The under is 3-0-1 in Burnes last four starts on five days rest.
The biggest issue with Milwaukee has been the offense and i expect their bats are going to be ice cold in this game. Look for Burnes also to struggle against the Giants bats, and that is going to be the difference in this game. Back the Brewers on the money line.
