The Cleveland Guardians face the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at Angel Stadium for game one of a four-game series. 

The Cleveland Guardians were swept by the New York Yankees in three games this weekend as Cleveland was not able to carry any momentum from its recent performances to the Bronx. The Guardians were blown out in the final game of the series on Sunday in a 10-2 final score. Cleveland is now 7-8 on the year, but with the AL Central's early struggles, the Guardians are only a 0.5 game behind the Twins for first place in the division standings. 

The Los Angeles Angels are coming off a strange weekend series with the Baltimore Orioles as the Halos entered the series as one of the hottest teams in the American League but ended up losing two of three to a rather weak Baltimore club. The Angels did win the final game of the series on Sunday and will look to build off of that win in this four-game set. The Angels are now 9-7 on the year and are behind the Mariners in the AL West standings by 1.0 game.

The Cleveland Guardians are projected to send their ace in right-hander Shane Bieber to the bump for game one. Bieber has pitched lights out baseball to start the season, as he owns a 1-0 record with a 2.25 ERA and an excellent 0.69 WHIP. Bieber has not allowed a single home run this season and has limited walks to only three in 16.0 innings of work. 

The Los Angeles Angels are set to bring right-hander Michael Lorenzen to the mound for this one. Lorenzen is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA through his first 9.1 innings with his new club. Lorenzen has allowed two home runs but has a sharp WHIP of 0.86 early in 2022. 

I like the Guardians here as I think Bieber is the far superior option on the mound and Cleveland has done well against right-handed pitching for most of this season as well. I think the Guardians' bats get to Lorenzen early and Bieber pitches another quality start.
